CHANEL
CHANEL is a French luxury fashion house founded in 1910 by Gabrielle Chanel in Paris. "Coco," as she had come to be called, opens a hat boutique at 21 rue Cambon under the name Chanel Modes. Her hats were worn by well-known French actresses of the era, and helped build her reputation. Brand specializes in women's Haute Couture and Ready-to-Wear, High Jewellery, Luxury leather goods, accessories & cosmetics. Chanel is credited for revolutionizing fashion by replacing structured, corseted silhouettes with more functional garments that women still found flattering. Since 1983 till 2019 the brand was under the creative direction by Karl Lagerfeld who brought life back into the Cruise collections, introduced the Métiers d'art and pre-collections, restored Haute Couture to its former glory, and created the CHANEL Ready-to-Wear collection as we know it today. In 2019 Virginie Viard, who had worked with Lagerfeld at the fashion house for over 30 years, was named the new Creative Director.
